After graduating from Indiana University, Jess taught English in a public high school for 3 years. She then turned her attention to schooling in the virtual sphere, and has spent the last 8 years teaching a variety of literature and composition courses online to middle and high school students. Jess has always had an affinity for story-telling and has been creating stories and reading for as long as she can remember. She loves helping other people find their written voice and/or their love for literature, so teaching was the perfect career choice! Jess is also a writer. Her debut novel, The Process of Fraying, was published in 2019 and optioned for film rights in 2020. Among her other publications are two essays and several poems.
